Summer is almost past and we're looking forward to autumn. The drought has put a damper on our organic gardening. No matter how often we water, it just seems nothing is thriving. Our twenty tomato plants are a dismal failure -- lots of fruit, but all seem to succomb to a rot just before they start to redden. *sigh*
However, there is something to be said about "taking lemons and making them lemonade". I allowed Bridget to pick away at the green tomatoes before they succombed to rot, and we will be making fried green tomatoes tonight. She had a wonderful time picking her "bapp-oo's" -- as she thinks they're apples.
If anyone has any recipes for green tomatoes, I would surely welcome them!!

(If you haven't already, please read down the course of column one and help me out with my tomato plight!)
We are looking forward to the harvest festival this year. Bridget is at the age where she is beginning to understand tradition. And, as a bonus, our willful, high-spirited child is finally beginning to listen to Mommy and Daddy's requests -- a blessing!
